The intensive care unit (ICU) at Dar AlHekma Hospital takes pride in being one of the most powerful units in Egypt, admitting more than 2000 patients a year.

The ICU consists of 20 beds that are integrated with the latest techno-medical achievements along with 4 intermediate care beds.

The head of the department is Dr. Gamal Lotfy, MD, professor of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Al Azhar University.

The ICU is qualified to admit all patients needing care after major trauma, sepsis, renal failure, infectious diseases, multiple organ failure, complex respiratory management, post cardiac surgery or neurosurgery.
